कोई चेहरा कोमल कली का, रुप कोई सोलन परी का,
उनसे सीखो सबक जिंदगी का, बेटियां तो होती हैं लम्हा खुशी का

आशियां मेरा जला कर बिजलियां रोती रहीं
उम्र भर मुझमें किसी की सिसकियां रोती रहीं…
शोर तो गुम हो गया गलियों में ढलती शाम तक
रात भर लेकिन हजारों चुप्पियां रोती रहीं…
सूखते दरिया पे उड़ते बादलों को देख कर
क्या बताऊं मुझमें कितनी मछलियां रोती रहीं…
कब समंदर देखता है मुड़के पीछे रेत के
बेख़बर इस बात से कुछ सीपियां रोती रहीं…
